Hopefully, last weekend you cowboys and cowgirls were able to follow the PBR as it returned to Kansas City. Lots of great riders were in tow for this one! Not only did you have the world No. 1, Valdiron de Oliveira, but also Ben Jones and Shane Proctor. These two are having the best years of their careers, so everyone was excited to see them continue their dominance. Plenty of other big names in the PBR were there too, like the reigning champ, Renlato Nunes.
The first night was called PBR Night and not only did they have the show, but they mixed in some Opening Day goodness as well. Now, as a bull, I can get into some rodeo. Baseball is another issue though. I’m not sure what the draw is there. I mean, I could chew on that ball; they are kind of tasty. Of course, they ain’t no dandelion!
Anyways, congratulations to Caleb Sanderson, for winning his first ever Built Ford Touch Shootout! The kid was on fire, handling bulls like he grew up breeding them. No way I’d ever let anyone dominate me like that (don’t tell my handler I said that). Those bulls he rode looked a bit slow and tame or maybe he was just that good. We’ll see this weekend down in Tampa Bay, Florida, where he and the biggest, baddest stars of PBR will convene for the Built Ford Tough Invitational. All of the thrills and spills will take place starting at 7:50 p.m. on Saturday and at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Each of the 40 riders will ride on both days. After that, it’s the usual top 10 scores that advance.
Get out your 10-gallon hats and get on down to the show if you can. A little birdy told me the bulls are going to be in worked up and in rare form for this one. It should be more exciting than calf’s fighting over their mothers milk.
